From Ningbo to Fredericia, cargo moves through Ningbo-Zhoushan, crosses a Suez-or-Cape voyage that ends with the Danish straits and the Baltic, and is discharged at the port of Fredericia.
Denmark registers battery producers through Dansk Producentansvar. This page sets out 5 points specific to this route, how Anxin handles each one and which documents to prepare.
What we need to start
Route profile
Beilun and Meishan exports under Zhejiang MSA's January 2026 battery guide, which trims duplicate filings but not the carrier's own document checks.
The Baltic is reached only through the Danish straits, where deep-draught ships are advised to take pilots, and its northern ports set ice-class restrictions every winter.

Where this route gets difficult
Listed from loading in Ningbo to import into Denmark, each with what we do about it.
For battery cargo moving water-to-water, Zhejiang MSA applies a 'one-document' rule: when the cargo report is filed at the loading port, the transhipment port only needs a ship report. Batteries barged into Ningbo can skip a second cargo report, as long as the first was correct.
What Anxin does: When cargo starts on a feeder or barge, we make sure the cargo report is filed at the first port of loading and carries the ocean routing, so no second cargo report is needed at Ningbo.
Every box for Fredericia passes the Danish straits, where IMO recommends pilotage on Route T for ships with a draught of 11 m or more and the Danish Maritime Authority reports non-compliant ships to their flag state. If the container is moved to a feeder at a North Sea port, that second vessel must also accept the UN numbers.
What Anxin does: We ask the carrier to name any transhipment port and the feeder operator on the booking and confirm DG acceptance for that leg as well as the mainline.
Since 18 August 2025 Danish battery producers register with Dansk Producentansvar through virk.dk, declaring expected quantities and chemistries. A foreign company selling straight to Danish end-users must appoint a Danish authorised representative, who confirms the registration and, for portable and LMT batteries, joins a collective scheme on its behalf.
What Anxin does: We ask the Danish buyer whether it or a foreign seller is the producer, and for the registration reference, before booking.
The Battery Regulation asks the importer to put its own name, registered trade name or trade mark and postal address, with a single contact point, on the battery. Only when the battery's size or nature makes that impossible may the details move to the packaging or an accompanying document, so a Denmark importer's details need to reach the factory before printing.
What Anxin does: We pass the Denmark importer's name and address block to the manufacturer before the goods are packed in China and check carton or battery photos for it before loading.
The Battery Regulation's general information label applies from 18 August 2026 (or 18 months after the label implementing act, if later), and every battery needs a QR code from 18 February 2027, linked to a battery passport for EV, LMT and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. Where the battery is too small, both go on the packaging and accompanying documents.
What Anxin does: Before booking we ask the Denmark importer to confirm the battery category and whether the label and QR-code elements are already on the goods, and compare carton photos with that answer.

Documents & compliance
Anxin reviews documents supplied by the shipper, manufacturer and importer; it does not issue test reports, safety data sheets or import certificates.

Most delays on this route start with a document that exists but does not match: a UN number, a model name or a package count that differs between the Ningbo filings, the carrier booking and the Denmark import file. We check the three against each other before the booking is confirmed.
Carriers we book with
Our booking panel; availability on this lane and acceptance of the declared UN numbers are confirmed for each booking. It does not mean that a listed carrier runs a direct service on this route. Carrier choice depends on the trade lane, cargo classification and each carrier's dangerous-goods acceptance at booking. The final carrier is confirmed on the booking.
Risk & mitigation
| Risk | Where | Mitigation | Who acts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Feeder operator does not accept the UN numbers | North Sea hub | DG acceptance for the feeder leg confirmed | Anxin with the carrier |
| Foreign seller without a Danish authorised representative | Danish producer register | Producer role and representative confirmed at booking | Seller / importer |
| Stock shipped without the label due from August 2026 | Importer in Denmark | Label status confirmed before booking | Manufacturer / importer |
| Importer details missing from battery and packaging | Importer in Denmark | Address block sent to the factory before packing | Manufacturer / importer |
Questions
The importer's: name, registered trade name or trade mark and postal address with a contact point, on the battery or, if it is too small, on the packaging or accompanying document.
Often, but it depends on the service. The Baltic is reached through the Danish straits, and we ask the carrier to name any transhipment port and confirm DG acceptance for each vessel.
Yes. Zhejiang MSA's 2026 guide removed it from the MSA cargo-report stage, but it still has to go to the carrier, which must refuse batteries that do not meet JT/T 1543-2025.
